Solar energy, wind energy, hydrothermal energy.....energy from pressure retarded osmosis (PRO). What's PRO? Every second tons of freshwater flow into the salty ocean unleashing a lot of energy in the process. Some european countries tap into this source by collecting the riverwater in a reservoir; ocean water is in an adjacent reservoir and between them a semi-permeable membrane. This membrane is permeable for water, not for salt. So the two tanks vary in salt-concentration. This osmotic pressure causes water to flow from low concentration towards higher concentration, so water flows into the salty tank. This stops when both tanks have equal concentrations (it's diluted in the original salty tank and concentrated in the originally less salty tank). Now both tanks have an equal concentration of salt, but the pressure in the original seawater tank has risen to an equivalent of theoretically 270m water column. There are lots of sources to get energy from. It's not necessary to burn people for it (kill to get the oil under their feet).
